My name is Hunter Smith. I'm a marketing major and I am from a small town called Wannich, New Jersey. UNC Charlotte has a ton of housing options. We have apartment style housing, suite style housing, your typical residence halls, something for everybody whether they want to live with for two other people or by themselves. They have whatever you can imagine.
Hunt Hall is one of our nicer residence halls located in the South Village area. It's really amazing. It's suite style living for students, and there's actually even a piano downstairs that students can play. It's really cool.
There are a lot of activities for students and your own residence halls and we put together movie nights, pizza parties, there's certain picnics we'll have so there's all kinds of events you can go together.
The on campus housing at UNC Charlotte is extremely convenient. You can be in any class in 10 to 15 minutes. You can wake up 15 minutes before class, put on a shirt and shorts, and jump right out the door and you're there so you can't beat it.
Our RA plans a lot of really fun activities. We decorate the house for Christmas, we do a secret santa exchange.
My favorite place to eat on campus is definitely the New South Village Crossing. They have to go place in there, they have Denny's, they have the actual dining hall itself.
There are so many dining options on campus. I like to go to Prospector which has a lot of different restaurants but I also know a lot of students that will go to Crown Commons or SoVi which is the new dining hall in the South Village area and they are all really awesome.
Coming from New Jersey I came into a school where a lot of people from North Carolina go so I didn't have a whole lot of friends coming in. But that has drastically changed since living in the residence hall. I've made a ton of new friends that I know carry me throughout college and even throughout life so living in the residence hall has been great as far as the social aspect.
